1) About This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Fingu (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information. The App is a paid educational app with no account or login. It includes learning content, quizzes, progress tracking, and an optional AI-powered helper.
We designed the App to collect as little data as possible.

2) Summary (Apple “Privacy Nutrition”)

• Data Linked to You: None.

• Data Not Linked to You:

  • Diagnostics (e.g., crash logs), only if enabled via your device settings.

• Tracking for Advertising: None.

• Third-Party Advertising: None.

• Purchases/Payments: Processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details.​

3) What We Collect (and Why)

We strive for local, on-device functionality.​

a) On-device learning data

• What: Your quiz results, “learned”/“completed” states, language settings, and similar app preferences.

• Where: Stored locally on your device.

• Why: To show progress and personalize learning.

• Control: You can reset progress from within the App (if provided) or by deleting the App from your device.

b) AI helper: user input you type

• What: Text you type into the AI helper (e.g., asking for a definition/explanation).

• Where/How: The typed text is sent to our AI service provider solely to generate a reply. We do not require personal information to use this feature.

• Important: Please do not include personal or sensitive information (full name, address, phone, school, health, etc.) in AI prompts.

• Retention/Use: We do not use your prompts to train our own models. Our AI provider processes the text to provide the response and may handle it under their own terms and security controls.

c) Diagnostics (optional)

• What: Anonymized crash logs/performance data.

• Source: Apple and/or the operating system, if you have opted to share diagnostics.

• Why: To improve stability and performance.

• Control: You can disable diagnostic sharing in Settings > Privacy on your device.

• We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, contacts, photos, microphones, advertising identifiers, or similar personal identifiers.

4) Payments

All purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card data. For details on Apple’s processing, see Apple’s privacy documentation.

5) Legal Bases (GDPR, where applicable)

• Performance of a contract: To provide the App’s core features you requested (learning content, quizzes, on-device progress).

• Legitimate interests: To maintain and improve the App (e.g., diagnostics).

• Consent: Where your device settings grant permission for diagnostics.
  We minimize processing and avoid personal data where possible.​

6) Children’s Privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences and may be used by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The AI helper does not require any personal details, please avoid entering personal information into the AI chat.

7) Data Sharing

We do not sell or share personal data for advertising. We may share limited data with:

• Service providers (processors):

  • AI provider (to process your typed questions and return an answer).

  • Apple (distribution, payments, optional diagnostics).
    These providers act on our instructions and implement appropriate security.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to investigate misuse.

8) International Transfers

Our service providers may process data on servers outside your country. Where applicable, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) to protect your information.

9) Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect information in transit and at rest. On-device learning data remains on your device. AI chat data is transmitted securely to obtain responses.​

10) Data Retention

• On-device learning data: stored on your device until you reset progress or delete the App.

• AI prompts: We do not store them on our own servers. Our AI provider may temporarily process them to deliver the response, per their policies.

• Diagnostics: retained by Apple per your device settings and Apple’s policies.​

11) Your Rights (where applicable)

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing. Because we minimize data collection and store learning progress on-device, you can usually exercise control by resetting progress or deleting the App.

12) Do Not Track / Cookies

We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. The App does not use cookies.

13) Third-Party Links

If the App ever links to external sites or content, their privacy practices apply. Review those policies before providing information.​

14) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. We will post the new effective date above. Material changes may be highlighted within the App or App Store listing.​
